De Beers plans 2011 as the launch year for its diamond brand – Forevermark in India, The brand will be launched first in Bengaluru within a few months, and later extended to markets in Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad and Kolkata. Forevermark will form partnerships with leading jewellers who will be identified as Authorised Forevermark Jewellers in the said cities, to retail the brand.

In Bengaluru, Forevermark will be available with Abaran, C. Krishniah Chetty & Sons and Joyallukas. Forevermark had begun the process of establishing awareness and credibility of the brand in India as early as 2009 through selected private events with key opinion leaders.

Stephen Lussier, CEO Forevermark states, “In the two years since launch, Forevermark has expanded into 350 doors and achieved more than $200 million retail sales. Forevermark diamonds are renowned as a selection of rare diamonds, each bearing a unique inscription at its heart. This inscription connotes that the diamond has been carefully selected to meet Forevermark’s standards of quality and integrity. Less than one percent of the world’s diamonds are eligible to become a Forevermark diamond. Only a select group of Master Diamantaires are eligible to cut and polish Forevermark diamonds and only a few, exclusive jewellers are able to sell at retail.
