First edition of Kerala Jewellery Show receives overwhelming response

The first edition of Kerala Jewellery Show (KJS) received an overwhelming response from both exhibitors and retailers in its first edition. The show successfully jointly organised by All Kerala Gold and Silver Merchants Association (AKGSMA) and Jewel Buzz (JB) from 28th to 29th October 2017 at CIAL Exhibition Centre, Kochi, Kerala, the show was inaugurated by Praveenshankar Pandya, Chairman- GJEPC in the presence of other dignitaries. Speaking on the occasion, Pandya had announced that GJEPC will set up a common facility centre(CFC) at Thrissur, Kerala. CFC in this region would give a huge boost in production and the quality of manufacturing jewellery by giving access to modern machines for small units in and around Thrissur and other southern states like Tamil Nadu and Karnataka”.

Prominent industry leaders of the industry comprising of GV Sreedhar, IPC-GJF, K Srinivasan MD Emerald Jewellery Industries & Gold Panel Convenor GJEPC, Rajendra Jain, MD -Swarovski Gemstones, N Ananth Padmanabhan, MD-NAC Jewellers, Mahendra Tayal, Anmol Jewellers Hyd and Regional Chairman, GJEPC, Mansukh Kothari, Co-Convener of the GJEPC’s Gold Jewellery & Other Precious Metal Jewellery Panel Committee, Suryanarayanan, Asst Director, Southern Region, GJEPC, Rahul Mehta, Director, Silver Emporium among others graced the show.

Important personages of the AKGSMA which included Dr B Govindan, State President AKGSMA & Chairman- Bhima Jewellery, Girirajan, Patron AKGSMA and Chairman- Bhima Jewellery, Adv Abdul Nazar, State Treasurer, AKGSMA, K Surendran, State General Secretary, Shaju Chirayath, President, KGSDA,  Rakesh Kumar, Chairman IJF, Muthu Venkatraman, President CJMA,  Sabarinath, President Jewellers Association, Coimbatore, Gaurav Chopra, IJF Himachal Pradesh added weightage to the show with their immense support and active participation.

The two-day show which was held from 28th-29th October 2017 at CIAL Exhibition Centre, Cochin showcased versatile collections in gold, silver, diamonds and jewellery set with Swarovski Zirconia by branding partners of Swarovski like Emerald Jewel Industry, Anmol Jewellers Hyderabad, Sanghi Jewellers, Amy Exports and Imports, Pranda India and Poonam Jewels in addition to the exhibitors from lab, education and machinery segment. The show also hosted insightful seminars, an award ceremony honouring the eminent leaders of the jewellery fraternity for their valuable contributions.

Kerala Jewellery Show is supported by SWAROVSKI GEMSTONES, HGMA, GJTCI, AKGSDA with HRD Antwerp as the Education Partner, Acme Infinity as the Technology Partner and BVC as the Logistic Partner and Tiara Fashion Jewellery as the Delegate Kit Sponsor.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. B Govindan, Chairman, Bhima Jewellers, Thiruvananthapuram and Chairman KJS Organising Committee said, “It was important to create a platform of sourcing in Kerala which takes care of even the small jewellers where they get to meet and source jewellery and other allied products and services. AKGSMA and Jewel Buzz has come together to organise Kerala Jewellery Show, an uniquely designed B2B platform for the jewellery industry combining a jewellery exhibition, an all India conclave of thought leaders from the jewellery trade and a grand award ceremony.

The debut show witnessed commendable footfall with genuine buyers engaged in business deals and networking. Kerala is a very important jewellery market with an enormous potential accommodating nearly 7000 registered gold dealers and thousands of unregistered dealers. The success of the first edition of KJS indicates that Kerala jewellery industry can have its very own holistic business platform in the years to come.
