Firestone appoints new Chief Project Officer for Liqhobong diamond mine

Firestone Diamonds plc has appointed a new Chief Project Officer for the implementation of the fully funded (subject to certain conditions precedent) Liqhobong diamond mine in Lesotho, reports say. Glenn Black who will take on the role holds around 40 years of experience in the mining industry, reports suggest. His work experience includes decades of project experience at a senior management level, over 20 years of working on major projects with the De Beers Group of companies.

Firestone views the coming of Black on board to be an asset as it begins the development and construction of the Main Treatment Plant at the Liqhobong Diamond Mine, aiming for a successful project delivery in early 2016, reports say. Firestone own s 75 percent interest in Liqhobong, and the remainder is held with the government of the Kingdom of Lesotho.
