February Bangkok Gems and Jewelry Fair to showcase highly skillful Thai craftsmanship to global audience
The 63rd edition of the Bangkok Gems and Jewelry Fair (BGJF), which will take place from February 20 to 24, 2019 at Challenger Hall 1-3, IMPACT Muang Thong Thani, Bangkok, will showcase extraordinary Thai skills in jewellery making, ready to serve global audience.

The 63rd edition of the Bangkok Gems and Jewelry Fair (BGJF), which will take place from 20-24 February, 2019, is set to present an extraordinary array of gold and silver jewelry, fine jewelry, gem-set jewelry and polished precious and semi-precious stones. Impressive figures from pre-registration show major buyers from across the world including the United States, EU, India, Australia, Middle East and ASEAN.

“Thailand’s Magic Hands: The Spirit of Jewelry Making” Concept
Thailand’s Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP), organizer of the show, presents Thailand’s “Magic Hands”, a global campaign to highlight the country’s exceptional craftsmanship. “For many decades, Thailand has been well recognized all over the world as a manufacturer of quality jewelry with beautiful designs and intricate craftsmanship. Over the years, stakeholders in the gems and jewelry industry, from craftspeople, designers,manufactures, and traders, have constantly developed their skills while seeking innovation that will uplift the industry to new heights. Today, I would rate Thai-made jewelry as one of the  leading products from the country which has brought much pride and joy to all Thais” said Ms. Banjongjitt Angsusingh, Director General, Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP),
Ministry of Commerce, Thailand.

‘Thailand’s Magic Hands Campaign’ aims to gain international recognition for the Thai gems and jewelry industry, which is the country’s third highest export earnings. The campaign artworks reiterate strengths of Thailand’s gems and jewelry industry, connecting the spirit of jewelry making to the traditional way of life and advanced skills of making intricate
creations. It is synchronization of hands and mind of Thai artisans that give life to objects, a distinctive feature found in Thai arts from fruit carving, mural painting to high jewelry making.



Key market buyers including US, EU, India, Australia, Hong Kong, determined to source
The Bangkok Gems and Jewelry Fair, one of the world’s leadingvgem and jewelry trade fairs, open to the trade and general public,vwill present a vast selection of gold and silver jewelry, gem-set jewelry and polished precious and semi-precious stones, as wellvas state-of-the-art manufacturing equipment. Thailand is celebrated for its skills in manufacturing a wide range of colored gemstones, including rubies and sapphires. In 2017, the country
 is among world’s top ten gems and jewelry exporters in terms of volume, with total export of $12 billion. This Southeast Asian country is an expanding jewelry hub recognized for the excellent quality of manufacture and design in gemstones and jewelry. For the upcoming edition, buyers from leading markets, notably the United States, EU, India, Australia, Hong Kong, Middle East and ASEAN, have pre-registered to come source the wide variety of products.

Special Showcases and Exhibitors’ Testimonials
The 63rd Bangkok Gems and Jewelry Fair not only presents a comprehensive range of gems and jewelry products by category, but it also features intricate jewelry pieces from up and coming designers as well as small and medium entrepreneurs. Special exhibitions include “The New Faces,” featuring over 120 SMEs exhibitors from across the country; “The Jewellers,” “Innovation and Design Showcase” and “Design Bazaar” whose selection includes innovative and eye-capturing jewelry pieces. Exhibitors have spoken highly of the merits of the BGJF as a major opportunity to restock gems and jewelry. “Thailand is an important colored stone center and BGJF is a chance to showcase products to a worldwide market,” said Mr. Salil Shah, founder of Diamrusa.

“The silver and gold jewelry market in Thailand is very strong. BGJF is where you can find the best gems and jewelry under one roof. Buyers and visitors are confident in the quality of the products that are well-made and internationally recognized as high-quality.” said Ploy Naratusachan, General Manager of V&P Jewellery.

“The strength of Thai diamond jewelry industry lies in its competitive prices, appealing designs and manufacturing
techniques. Most importantly, Thai manufacturers are flexible about customizing products to order” said Sirapat Pipatveeravat, Creative Director of Der Mond. “We received orders from Chinese buyers as well as interest from
