Fabergé Big Egg Hunt to unfold with 300 giant egg sculptures to find

The Fabergé Big Egg Hunt this year is presenting 300 giant egg sculptures, each to be designed by globally renowned artists, designers, architects and brands, to raise funds for Elephant Family, founded by Mark Shand and Studio in a School, founded by Agnes Gund. The Hunt, which is a creative charity initiative by Fabergé, is slated this year in New York from 1st to 26th April 2014.

These giant egg sculptures will be placed throughout the five boroughs of New York City during the Easter period. The Fabergé Madison Avenue boutique will house one of the exceptional designs. New Yorkers and visitors can participate in ‘hunting’ for the giant eggs with a magical fairy tale and stand a chance to win one of three Fabergé prizes, with a combined retail price exceeding USD 125,000. The unique prizes are specially designed jewellery egg pendants in gold and diamonds set with either exquisite Zambian emeralds, Mozambican rubies or Zambian amethysts, coloured gemstones by Gemfields.

The Fabergé Big Egg Hunt will culminate in a grand auction of the egg sculptures, to be held by Sotheby’s.

Being a passionate advocate of the arts and creative talent, Fabergé views The Fabergé Big Egg Hunt as the perfect medium to celebrate art, creativity and support a social cause. The Fabergé Big Egg Hunt in London in 2012 set two Guinness World Records and ultimately raised over $1.5 million for charity.

As a prelude to The Fabergé Big Egg Hunt, Fabergé held a cocktail countdown party in New York on 28th January 2014 with the support of designers, artists and New York society in attendance.
