The Federation for European Education in Gemmology (FEEG) will hold its 12th Symposium at the Vakschool Schoonhoven, the Jewellery School of the Netherlands.

The one-day event will bring together gemmologists from eight European countries, and will feature speakers from Germany, Scotland and Israel.

The program offers an attractive slate of subjects. Menahem Sevdermish, FGA, will lecture on “GemWizard – global colour communications analysis and grading in gems.” the renowned Scottish gemmologist Alan Hodgkinson will offer an lecture on practical gemmological, while international diamond, gem and jewellery industry communications specialist and consultant Ya’akov Almor will speak on the role and responsibilities of the gemmologist in the gem and jewellery supply chain. A workshop on “How to make your own jewellery” will be featured. The symposium participants will also be treated to a walking tour along the picturesque town’s many gold and silver ateliers and pay a visit to the Dutch Gold, Silver and Clock Musuem – the nation’s only museum of its kind – where they will be received by the Schoonhoven mayor, followed by a dinner party in a local restaurant. It is believed that the symposium is a great networking opportunity for the participants. The programme allows for plenty of time to meet one’s colleagues and friends.
