Entries invited for ICA's International Poster Design Competition

The call for entries for the sixth International Colored Gemstone Association (ICA) International Poster Competition has been announced and the last date for submitting entries is February 1, 2011. The competition will simultaneously be held with the ICA Congress in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil slated from April 30 to May 4, 2011.

"The Rio de Janeiro ICA Congress will mark the special and unique contribution of the Brazilian mines as the most exciting source of a vast variety of gemstones, and will salute the miners, cutters, polishers and traders that brought to the world this rainbow of shining colors," said Yehuda Kassif - the founder and coordinator of the competition and ICA Ambassador to Israel. He had has issued the call for poster designs.

ICA’s poster designs are dedicated to the promotion of coloured gemstones and participation in the competition has been increasing manifold, every year. Through this platform, ICA intends to encourage its members and those of the coloured gemstone community along with art students, and graphic designer to find new, creative ideas to promote the appreciation of coloured gemstones. All poster entries will be exhibited during the ICA Congress in Rio de Janeiro where ICA members and congress delegates will vote for their favorite designs. Four top posters will be announced at the congress gala dinner; the three top winners will receive cash prizes. Following the congress, ICA will use the posters in its publications and online to promote colored gemstones.
