A live auction will take place at the Graceland, with online bids accepted and coordinated by online auction marketplace Invaluable (http://www.invaluable.com/) on January 7, 2016. Besides other valuables related to the iconic singer, a gold, diamond and rock crystal quartz ring gifted by Elvis Presley to Linda Thompson holds, makes an interesting watch at the auction.

According to Invaluable, the ring is 18-karat yellow gold, rock crystal quartz and diamond flower-shaped ring and was gifted to Linda Thompson by Elvis. The ring's design is reminiscent of a classic Tiffany lamp, and it was perhaps inspired by the Belle Epoque. In 1988, Linda decided to part with some of the jewelry gifted to her by Elvis at a Christie’s auction in New York.

The auction was mentioned in a National Enquirer article at the time entitled, “Elvis’ Ex Selling Off His Glittering Gifts of Love,” although Thompson was clear to mention that she was not selling for the money but only to share these precious mementos with others that would appreciate them. Of the 34 jewels offered in that Christie’s sale, this gorgeous gold, diamond and frosted crystal quartz ring was one.

Moreover, the flower design is centered with 9 clustered, round, brilliant-cut diamonds weighing approximately 0.98 carats. The ring is offered with a copy of the National Enquirer article, a page of a Jim Norman auction catalog in which the ring is pictured and identified as “Rock Crystal Diamond & 14K Ring. A Gift 1974,” and a letter appraisal from Jimmy Smith Jewelers in which he appraises this and the other emerald and diamond ring once belonging to Linda.
