EGL discovers four synthetic diamonds in pack of natural diamonds
In a package of 20 diamonds submitted by its customer for grading, EGL International has discovered four synthetic diamonds, reports say. EGL which employs the latest technology has uncovered the lab-created stones and are Type IIa diamonds, reports say.

During examination, the first stage where FTIR infrared spectroscopy was employed indicated that the stones revealed some suspicion, reports say. Following this, the stones were tested using the DiamaTest machine, in turn proving the stones to be ‘not natural’. In the final examination, using a Raman spectroscopy, the diamonds were proven to be lab-grown, reports suggest. The laboratory has given all the four diamonds the "Laboratory Grown Diamond" certificates, and the words have been inscribed on the girdle of the stones, reports suggest.
