Hong Kong-headquartered EGL Asia is expanding its laboratory services into Shenzen, Southern China, and Taipei, the capital of Taiwan, with a lab slated to open in each of the two places in early-October. To underline this expansion, the lab would be offering free grading and laser inscription services at the September Hong Kong Jewellery & Gem Fair at its booth at the Asia World-Expo (AWE), Hall 7, 7M32-34, 7N 31-33, between 14-19th September.

EGL Asia CEO Joseph Kuzi said the lab will establish a presence through a local, Chinese representative in the Shenzen area catering to the need for on site in southern China. Meanwhile, the lab in Taipei will be the only foreign laboratory out of the "big four" that will offer full diamond identification and grading services in the Taiwanese capital. This apart, EGL Asia will also offer identification and grading services for jade, which occupies special status in Asian culture.
