Dubai Diamond Exchange, WFDB express condolences over the passing of former ALROSA president

In September 2014, Fyodor Andreev had left his post from ALROSA due to medical reasons.

Fyodor Andreev, the President of ALROSA from 2009 to 2014, passed away on January 30, 2015.

The management of ALROSA on behalf of all employees expresses deep condolences to the family of Fyodor Andreev. DMCC and the Dubai Diamond Exchange; the World Federation of Diamond Bourses (WFDB), too, expressed their deepest regrets and sincere condolences over the death of Fyodor Andreev.

Fyodor Andreev was born in Voronezh on August 16, 1966. He is a graduate of Leningrad State University with diploma in political economy (graduation year 1989). In 2002-2003, he worked as first vice-president of ALROSA in charge of finance and economics. From 2003 to 2009, he held key positions with OAO RZhD (Russian Railways). In 2009, he returned to ALROSA as President of the company and in September 2014 left his post due to medical reasons, says ALROSA release.

DMCC and the Dubai Diamond Exchange enjoyed many valuable encounters with Andreev and ALROSA which resulted in numerous projects of mutual cooperation including ALROSA’s involvement in the Dubai Diamond Conference 2013; the mutual cooperation agreement signed between the ALROSA and the Dubai Diamond Exchange in April 2014; and more recently the office opening ceremony for ALROSA’s subsidiary Arcos East DMCC at the DMCC Free Zone in November, where it had the pleasure of hosting senior management of ALROSA.
