Diagem’s Collier-04 pilot project has delivered 15 very large diamonds amongst other commercial grade diamonds, the largest being of 20.9 carats. Some of the other diamonds in descending order are of 17.3, 13.6 and 8.3 carats.
Also, around 21,980 commercial-sized diamonds weighing 2,691 carats in total have been recovered from 9,414 cubic meters of ore. This makes the average diamond grade of 0.29 carats per cubic meter and the average carat weight of 0.12 per diamond.
Diagem confirmed that the other 14 large stones are of good quality. All stones weighing over one carat comprise of 8.4% in carat weight of the total diamonds recovered since the project reopened in March 2007.
