The parties negotiated further development of bilateral cooperation between ALROSA and AWDC. In particular, the possibility of the company's participation in the events dedicated to the 570th anniversary of the diamond trade of Antwerp to be celebrated in 2017-2018, was discussed.
Later, a working meeting with the leadership of the diamond exchange «Beurs Voor Diamanthandel» took place. The agenda of the president of ALROSA also included a visit to the ‘Diamond Office’, which registers all the rough and polished diamond export-import operations in Belgium.
Belgium is one of the key trade and industry partners of ALROSA and one of the world's largest diamond trading centers. In 2013, ALROSA and AWDC, representing the interests of the Belgian diamond business, entered into a cooperation agreement. The agreement, in particular, provides for the promotion of diamond trade, interaction on the Kimberley Process, the implementation of educational programs and the exchange of information.
