De Beers’ rough diamond sales amount to a provisional value of $580 million

De Beers Group recorded rough diamond sales (Global Sightholder Sales and Auction Sales) in the third sales cycle of 2017 worth a provisional value of $580 million. Bruce Cleaver, CEO, De Beers Group, said: “We saw the continuation of good rough diamond demand in Cycle 3 across the product range. This reflected positive sentiment from our customers following the Hong Kong International Jewellery Show in March.”

The second sales cycle of rough diamonds was worth $553 million, while the first sale. The third sales cycle of the rough dimaonds last year touched $666 million.
