DTC fervently support WDC efforts towards KP & SoW

The Diamond Trading Company (DTC) is raising awareness within the diamond trade of the Kimberley Process (KP) by providing its sightholders with material support and the System of Warranties (SoW) programs. The DTC expressed support for the World Diamond Council KP and SoW awareness campaign, in a press release issued on May 26, 2006. The WDC campaign will be launched at JCK Las Vegas show in June this year.

The DTC, De Beers sales and marketing arm, noted that sightholders are key players in the diamond industry and are committed to industry best practice through their adherence to the DTC Diamond Best Practice Principles. For this reason, the DTC has decided to provide them with the necessary tools to enhance awareness and demonstrate the steps that are being implemented to enhance consumer confidence. The Diamond Training Company (DTC) fully supports this important initiative to raise awareness of how the issue of conflict diamonds has been addressed by the global diamond industry, civil society and governments across the world, according to the press release.

A poster available for use by DTC sightholders says, 100% committed to the Kimberley Process, to the DTC Diamond Best Practices Principles, to conflict-free diamonds, to supporting you and your customers. We are. Are you? According to the DTC, the KP and SoW programs, aimed at stemming the flow of conflict diamonds, are responsible for reducing the trade in conflict diamonds by approximately 99.8%.
