During the 2010 CIBJO Congress in Munich Germany, CIBJO, the World Jewellery Confederation, announced appointing Moshe Mosbacher as member to its Board of Directors and of its President's Council. Mr. Mosbacher is currently also the president of the Diamond Dealer's Club of New York, the oldest and largest diamond exchange in the United States. "We are honoured to have Moshe playing such a critical role in CIBJO," said CIBJO president Gaetano Cavalieri, after Mr. Mosbacher's appointments were confirmed. "He not only brings to the Board of Directors and the PC his wisdom and experience, but also the insight of an experienced diamantaire in the world's largest jewellery market."

Mr. Mosbacher holds 30 years of experience in the diamond industry, and has earned the recognition of an expert in the evaluation and manufacturing of rough diamonds. He became president of the Diamond Dealers Club of New York in October 2009, and just prior to this appointment he served as DDC vice president and chairman of DDC’s Board of Arbitrators.

CIBJO also appointed Dr. Martin Hochbaum, CEO of the DDC of New York, to head a search team that will select candidates for the first Executive Corporate Social Responsibility course of the World Jewellery Confederation Education Foundation (WJCEF) in Antwerp, Belgium, in June. The course will be hosted by HRD Antwerp, and CIBJO has granted 50,000 Swiss francs into a scholarship fund to assist the first students in financing their studies.
