A diamond manufacturing centre is planned to be built in Ramat Gan, in Israel’s diamond district hub, and construction of the facility has begun. The purpose behind building this facility is to enable diamond cutting and polishing processes to be conducted within Israel, reports say.

This centre, when complete will house a diamond production center, offering complete updated amenities and technical equipment, security system, and also an in-house academy to train potential diamond polishers. The facilities will be available at a discount to IDE members, while small and medium sized firms can use the high-tech Sarine system for processing stones, at special rates. According to IDE Industry Committee chair Yoram Dvash, the Galaxy systems available at the premises will divide the heavy load currently on the IDE service center, reports add.

As part of the construction process, a pre-existing building on Tuval Street near the IDE bourse complex is being reconstructed. This facility served as a diamond polishing plant.

The construction is being handed out to Mr. Yoram Laniado, reports say.
