Christie’s Important Jewels sale generates revenues worth $27,534,750
At Christie’s recently concluded Important Jewels, New York sale, an oval-cut fancy vivid pink VVS1 diamond of 5.50 carats turned out to be the top in the sale. It was bought for $9,573,000.

Rahul Kadakia, International Head of Christie’s Jewelry, commented, “Colored diamonds continued their fabulous run at Christie’s spring auction season, with multiple phone lines bidding enthusiastically on the vivid pink. With the sale of THE WINSTON BLUE, The Ocean Dream, and the Oval Vivid Pink, Christie’s achieved $42m for these three exceptional diamonds alone. We look ahead now to staging an exciting fall season beginning in October at Christie’s New York.”

The remaining top nine lots included a rectangular-cut D colour VVS1 potentially internally flawless diamond of 20.08 carats by Taffin; a rectangular-cut fancy light pink VS1 diamond of 5.91 carats; a circular-cut diamond and emerald long chain necklace by Leviev; a pair of pear-shaped D-color internally flawless diamond ear pendants of 5.46 and 5 carats; a rectangular-cut fancy yellow diamond of 32.51 carats; a diamond and cushion-cut emerald pendant necklace of 33.46 carats by William Goldberg; a circular-cut K-color VS2 diamond of 19.46 carats; a diamond and sapphire ‘Zip’ necklace by Van Cleef & Arpels and a Belle Epoque natural pearl drop and diamond necklace.

The sale achieved a total of $ 27,534,750. Of thr 225 lots offers, 187 went down the hammer.
