CIBJO announces venue and dates of 2010 Congress

CIBJO, the World Jewellery Confederation, has announced that its 2010 Congress is scheduled to be between 19th and 22nd February in Munich, Germany. The congress will coincide with the Inhorgenta Europe 2010 fair. Messe Muenchen International (Munich International Trade Fairs) will be the hosts for the four-day event.

The congress will be held at the International Congress Centre (ICM). The congress registrants will be allowed full access to the Inhorgenta Europe 2010 fair and the facilities offered by Messe Muenchen. While pointing out to the important role that CIBJO plays in advancing the interests of the jewellery industry and trade at large, and particularly in advancing consumer confidence in jewellery products, Klaus Dittrich, Managing director and future Chairman and CEO of Messe Muenchen expressed his organisation’s pleasure in hosting the CIBJO conference at the time of the Inhorgenta Europe fair. He believed that the Inhorgenta Europe fair would offer a fascinating, extra dimension to the CIBJO congress participants.

Speaking on the occasion, CIBJO President Gaetano Cavalieri stated, “CIBJO is grateful to the Messe Muenchen for hosting the event, as it offers our members not only to join our deliberations, but also enjoy access to one of Europe’s most prestigious jewellery shows. Also the time and venue will enable many other interested parties to join our meetings and take part in our discussions.”

A dedicated 2010 CIBJO Congress website will be up and running in mid December. This is to facilitate participants to register for the congress, choose and book accommodations and plan their trips accordingly. The website will include background material about Munich, the German jewellery industry and past CIBJO congresses. In the weeks, leading up to the event, the congress programme, speakers list and biographies, and a press kit will be uploaded.
