Bonas Coloured Stone Tender Returns to Hong Kong for its third consecutive year

Traditionally a diamond tender house, the company will present about 500 lots at the Hong Kong SkyCity Marriott Hotel from Saturday 14th to Wednesday 18th September 2019 to coincide with the September Hong Kong gem and jewellery show. The exclusive tender offers wholesalers, manufacturers and collectors an opportunity to acquire a vast array of gem quality coloured stones. Approximately 500 lots of rubies and sapphires, both heated and unheated, Paraiba Tourmaline, Tanzanite, Tsavorite, Alexandrite and semi-precious stones will be featured in the sale. The premier tier of goods offered for bidding are of mixed origin, size and quality.

Following the successful tender sales in Hong Kong and Thailand, this will be Bonas’ fourth coloured stone tender. This year, the company also brought to market, the exciting and unique purple gemstone Sugilite and successfully held two Sugilite tenders in Hong Kong. As we see it, gemstone tenders or auctions are starting to gain momentum and have become a new exciting way to sell and purchase gemstones in the global industry. Unlike traditional auctions, tenders have no listed selling price; nor extra fees such as the buyer’s premium. It’s a structured invitation for buyers to submit one highest bid only, thus, enabling traders to purchase at true market value.

The bidding process is bailiff supervised and conducted on a dedicated password protected online platform. Participation in next month’s Hong Kong gemstone tender is on a registration-only basis. To register or schedule a viewing, contact Henry Lam at henrylam@bonasgroup.com. The sale will close on 19th September at 15:30 Hong Kong time and will be an online highest bid tender via www.bonascolouredgems.com.
