Antwerp’s polished diamond exports drop 18.87% in September

Antwerp’s polished diamond exports in September fell 18.87 percent to $1,331,401,437, while in volume terms it dropped 15.51 percent to 617,783 carats. The average export price per carat of polished diamonds increased from 1,536 U.S. dollar in August to 2,155 U.S. dollar in September.

Imports of polished diamonds decreased in volume by 21.52 percent (on y-o-y basis), while the value of the said imports dropped 22.97 percent (on y-o-y basis).

Rough diamond exports, on the contrary, rose 67.61 percent in volume terms and 8.20 percent in value terms (on y-o-y basis). Import of rough diamonds rose 2.09 percent increase in volume terms and by 4.57 percent (on y-o-y basis), based on value.
