The Namibia Diamond Trading Company (NDTC) recently celebrated the launch of the 3rd Shining Light Awards collection, with the theme; Women of Africa, “Your Light Shines”.

The event was held at the Safari Conference centre and in addition to unveiling the Namibian collection it also featured jewellery pieces from Botswana, boasting a grand total of over 14,000 excellently cut diamonds crafted into the most exquisite jewellery pieces dedicated to the Women of Africa. The competition witnessed around 103 entries.

Ankit Gems a DTC Sightholder, sponsored one of the winning piece at the Awards. Using latest means of technology, they manufacture rough diamonds at their factories in Surat & Windhoek and achieve sales of polish diamonds worldwide through their sales offices in Mumbai, Hongkong & Australia. Katharina Rust, a woman of strength and resilience and that’s what her neckpiece symbolised, walked away as one of the winner for the Namibian Collection. She always wears her nurturing heart on her sleeve hence so many run to her for comfort. Her design sponsored by Ankit Gems, is an 18ct yellow gold neckpiece, set with 2,471 brilliant cut, diamonds with a total weight of 44.14cts.
