Mining giant Alrosa recorded revenues worth $2.46 billion, rising 16 percent on y-o-y basis, at the end of the first half of 2012. Its profits dipped 38 percent to $520 million, reports add.
Rough diamond production decreased 15 percent to 16.4 million carats, in the said six months. But the revenues from rough diamonds increased 6 percent year on year to $2.26 billion. The volume of rough diamond sales dropped 10 percent to 17.2 million carats.
Cost of sales increased 46 percent o $1.09 billion and total capital expenditure was higher by 59 percent to $446.9 million.
