Alrosa expects diamond sales to touch $4.5 ‎billion in 2013

Mining giant Alrosa is looking at its 2013 diamond production and sales figures to be at the levels of this year, reports say. In this backdrop, the company projects its sales of rough and polished diamonds to touch $4.5 ‎billion in 2013 ($4.59 billion is its projection for this year).

Projection on its production for 2013 stood at 34.5 million carats, while this year it has projected production of 34.4 ‎million carats. Its underground operations are expected to see production growing 15 percent (on y-o-y basis) to 10 million carats in 2013, reports add.

Alrosa’s outlook for 2013 reflects its expectations of moderate growth in demand, reports add.
