Alrosa discovers 78 carat diamond from Mir

Mining major Alrosa recovered a 78.02-carat diamond from its Mir Kimberlite Pipe located in Yakutia, reports say. The diamond is of 28.5x 28.4x24.2 mm in dimension.

The company described the diamond to display a regular shape with minor technogenic damages on two tops and small inclusions, and is transparent with yellowish and greenish hue, reports say. Also, if auctioned, the company notes the stone could attract a price of around US$ 600,000, as per reports.
