AWDC and Antwerp Indian Association prepare for Yoga Day

The Antwerp Indian Association and AWDC have together decided to host a Yoga Day in Antwerp, participating in the spirit of the first International Yoga Day being recognised globally on June 21, 2015. The event in Antwerp has already garnered over a thousand registrations.

It was a landslide victory for India when the UN General Assembly declared June 21 the “International Day of Yoga”, inspired by Prime Minister of India Narenda Modi’s speech last September, urging the world community to celebrate yoga on an international level.

The event will be a platform to converge yoga enthusiasts and express the unity amongst people of the world. The event is open to everyone age 12 and up, and will take place at the field above the Craeybeckx Tunnel on the Middelheimlaan in Wilrijk, Antwerp.
