AWDC adds symposium to ‘Diamond Divas’ exhibition

The Antwerp World Diamond Centre (AWD) said that it is adding a new element, a symposium, to this year’s edition of its ‘Diamond Divas’ exhibition. The symposium will be a platform to discuss the association of diamond jewellery and celebrities from a marketing perspective. The ‘Diamond Divas’ is a symbolic reference to the celebrities of stage and screen and to the jewellery showcased at this yearly event hosted by AWDC. The exhibition displays the diamond jewellery worn by celebrities.

The symposium is being held for members of the jewellery and diamond trade. The HRD Antwerp is sponsoring the symposium, which will allow a free attendance to it. The introduction will be delivered by Freddy J. Hanard, CEO Antwerp World Diamond Centre. Subjects to be discussed at the symposium include a talk on ‘Diamonds - symbol of power, wealth and emotions’ by Vinciane van Grotenhuis van Onstein, Author of the Diamond Divas book, ‘Cartier: its own role on the big screen’ by Pierre Rainero, Cartier Heritage Director, ‘Trends forecasting 2009 and the red carpet’ by Paola De Luca, editorial director and co-founder of TJF, ‘HRD Antwerp diamond certificates: a blueprint for quality’ by Katrien De Corte, Head of HRD Antwerp – Education, ‘Important jewellery sold at auction’ by Bernadette de Bruijn, Associate Director Christies.

The Diamond Divas exhibition takes place in the Diamond Museum, Province of Antwerp from April 11 to June 8.
