Sees a stable rough diamond market
ALROSA’s diamond sales in June at $365 million

ALROSA Group, the world leader in diamond production, announced diamond sales results for June and the first six months of 2017. In June 2017, the Group sold $365 million worth of rough and polished diamonds. Rough diamond sales by value amounted to $354.4 million, polished diamond sales – $ 10.6 million.

In the six months between January–June 2017, ALROSA’s rough and polished diamond sales edged up to $2.497 billion. Rough diamonds were sold for $ 2.442 billion, polished diamonds – for $ 54.9 million.

“In the first half of 2017, the company cut down finished stock due to positive rough diamond market trends. The stock structure as at the start of the year, predominantly small-size, rather inexpensive goods, had a significant impact on the sales structure. We consider the existing rough diamond market environment to be stable, though we saw a seasonal slowdown by the end of June,” said ALROSA Vice President Yury Okoemov.
