Diamond production by ALROSA Group is expected at up to 39 million carats in the next year
ALROSA plans rough diamond sales worth USD 3.5 billion in 2016

While approving the budget for ALROSA group for 2016, its Supervisory Board expected the production of diamond to be up to 39 million carats, while rough diamond sales worth of 3.5 billion in the coming year. This figure has been reached after taking into account the minimal demand growth in the next year. 

According to Supervisory Board of ALROSA, the key objectives of the 2016 production program is to reach the design capacity of the Mir underground mine and put the second start-up complex of the Udachny underground mine into operation in the second half-year. 

It may be recalled that ALROSA is the largest rough diamond producer in the world and had to cut down its production in 2015 several times.
