In 2017, ALROSA implemented over 500 social and charitable initiatives. The company finances regional development programs, social infrastructure, charitable and sponsorship projects, corporate social programs for employees and their families, and renders targeted aid to residents of the main regions of its presence.

Over 70 per cent of all initiatives were implemented in Yakutia - ALROSA's key region where the company conducts its core business. These initiatives are partially implemented through nonprofit organization "Target Fund for Future Generations of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia)", in which the company has invested over 4.5 bln rubles for the whole period of cooperation since 2011.

One of the most important directions of ALROSA's social policy is the promotion of the integrated social and economic development of the republic and its nine municipalities (uluses). In 2017, about 200 public, municipal, state organizations and institutions received ALROSA's patronage and targeted assistance, more than 150 individuals in difficult situations appealed to the company and received gratuitous financial aid. ALROSA's subsidiaries made more than 100 positive decisions in response to appeals from individuals and organizations.

One of the most significant regional projects is construction and equipping of the Republican children's rehabilitation center in Yakutsk, which was opened in March 2018. Every year, about 3,000 physically disabled children will be able to receive medical care in the center.

ALROSA supports and develops social infrastructure, finances housing construction and housing and communal sector. For example, a new 130-apartment house was built in Udachny as part of the housing program in 2017. The resettlement of citizens under the program for the demolition of slum dwellings and dilapidated housing continued.

As one of the country's largest industrial corporations, ALROSA supports and finances a number of organizations and major federal events in the field of culture, education, health, and sports.

In particular, the Company supports the Northern (Arctic) Federal University named after M.V. Lomonosov in Arkhangelsk, the North-Eastern Federal University named after M.K. Ammosov, the Valery Gergiev Foundation, the Ilze Liepa Charity Foundation for the Promotion of the Development of Choreography and Fine Arts "Culture for Children", and other organizations.ALROSA has been supporting the Russian Ice Hockey Federation, the Russian Wrestling Federation, the Russian Union of Martial Arts, the Russian Kyokushinkai Association, and since 2017 - the VTB United Basketball League and the Federation of Dance Sport and Acrobatic Rock and Roll.

In Yakutia, ALROSA supports and helps to repair and equip schools of Mirny district, supports institutions of advanced and higher education. In addition, ALROSA continues to finance 27 pre-school institutions united in the Almazik autonomous non-profit pre-school education organization.

In addition to external projects, ALROSA and its 17 subsidiaries implement 4 corporate social programs each: Wellness and Recreation of Employees and their Children, Healthcare, Culture and Sports, and Housing.

Several thousand cultural, sports, and health and fitness events are organized every year based on over 175 specialized sports sections and club associations where thousands of adults and children practice sport.

Last year, based on the structural subdivision, ALROSA Medical Center, the implementation of the Healthcare program continued, within its framework there are contracts with more than 70 leading medical institutions of the Russian Federation and Yakutia. In addition to this program, in 2017, the company provided additional funds for free medical screening of its employees to diagnose diseases at an early stage - more than 5,000 employees were examined within two months of the program.
