AGS goes online

The American Gem Society Laboratories, LLC has officially launched its website - AGSLAB.com, for the jewellery industry trade. The website has been conceptualised as a reference guide offering resourceful information to the jewellery manufacturers and retailers. It has been designed with an easy-to-use navigation system, allowing easy browsing anytime, anywhere.

Frank Dallahan, President and CEO of the American Gem Society Laboratories said, “We’ve provided the trade with the information they need to get their diamonds graded quickly and efficiently. We’re very excited about our new look and layout, and the site will continue to evolve as we add interactive tutorials and in-depth diamond education tools.” The information available in the website includes Online registration for those wishing to sign up as a client or download information on the Laboratory’s process, shipping instructions and quickly find answers to other frequently asked questions. Another section delivers Cut Grade information, explaining the cutting chart guidelines for oval, round, square princess and square emerald cut diamonds. The American Gem Society Laboratories Grading Reports, providing detailed descriptions and samples of each American Gem Society Laboratories document are also available so also Report verification for matching information on an individual diamond grading report to the American Gem Society Laboratories database.

“Our goal is to become known in both the trade and to consumers as the ultimate resource for information they need on diamonds and diamond grading,” said Dallahan. The AGS had taken an initiative in early 2008, to increase search engine exposure from sites such as Google and Yahoo. This resulted in a 61 percent increase in unique site visits.
