IIJW is an initiative by the GJEPC to showcase India’s finest in jewellery, be it design or innovation, supported by top-of-the-line craftsmanship, technology and quality to the customers around the globe. “We are proud to announce India International Jewellery Week 2013. The show has gone from strength to strength in its size and popularity with each edition and this year too, we continue our endeavor to promote India as the global innovation and design hub for jewellery”, said Mr. Vipul Shah, Chairman, GJEPC.
He added that while India does enjoy being a consistent leader as a diamond producer in the world, “given the large talent pool of designers and manufacturers as well as the vast resources that we have, we believe that the IIJW will further consolidate the demand for Indian jewellery in the international market. The potential that this segment presents for our industry is immense and basket of products that the country has to offer is enormous.”
IIJW 2013 will feature participation from over 30 designers and jewellery brands, with 7-8 shows across all four days. The grand finale show on 8th of August will feature the “Best of Best” show highlighting the best from each designer.
IIJW has also been a platform for encouraging budding talent from institutes such as GIA and IGI. This year, there will also be 20 budding designers from NID and IIGJ. Sonam Kapoor, Brand Ambassador, GJEPC said, “The IIJW, I believe, is a true reflection of the Indian gem and jewellery industry’s ability to create unique jewellery masterpieces that proudly reflects a rich culture and spirited entrepreneurship.”
