41st BGJF to pay tribute to purple

The organisers of the Bangkok Gems and Jewelry Fair (BGJF) have given the 41st edition a new exhibition attraction – The Sala Design Pavilion. The gallery is situated on the main foyer of BGJF and is dedicated to the avant-garde movements and pays tribute to the colour 'Purple' in jewellery. The Purple Evolution at the Pavilion displays virtually anything purple, eye-catching, rare and unique. Among them are Lavender Jade, Amethyst, Purple Sapphire and Purple Gold. The Pavilion reiterates Thailand’s rich resources and assocoations with coloured gemstones.

"Sala Design Pavilion is an additional appeal which BGJF organisers have been creating to offer more values to our visitors," said Somchai Phornchindarak, CEO of Bangkok Gems & Jewelry Fair. The Pavilion will also include a presentation of a home-grown research of Purple Gold which overcomes the age-old challenges of making Purple Gold strong yet soft enough to be mouldable into different jewellery pieces while being less reactive to contaminants.

The organisers will also be launching a unique B2B matchmaking facility through a website www.ospgemsjewelry.com. The portal allows an electronic interaction with over 1,000 exhibitors involved in 16 key categories of goods and services. The 41st BGJF is slated between February 27 to March 2, 2008.
