100 companies gather at the WJC premises

The World Jewelry Center (WJC) in Las Vegas, is soon to celebrate its first anniversary of its formal launch, and to add to the hype, it has been successful in roping 100 companies to hold offices in its premises. The 100th company to sign the letter of intent was Supergems Jewellery, a division of DTC sightholder.

The 100 firms would cover nearly 210,000 sq. ft. in the 52-story office tower, along with half the space of the retail centre, amounting to 37,000 sq. ft. The 100 companies represent 17 countries and four continents.

According to WJC managing director Bill Boyajian, “The recent approval of the WJC as a Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) is a significant achievement. The deferral of U.S. Customs fees for goods entering our FTZ creates money-savings opportunities, and numerous business-to-business options.” Groundbreaking is slated for September 2008, and the project is expected to be complete in mid-2011.
