According to a recent report by Forbes, Lightbox, which was so far selling through its website and popup initiatives, is now going to retail at Bloomingdale's and Reeds Jewelers as a trial run. The idea behind this is to essentially understand whether the consumers are ready to pay $800 per carat for labgrown diamonds at a retail store.

The jewellery will be available at Bloomingdale's 59th Street flagship store in New York and across thirty stores of Reeds in the Southeast. The labgrown offerings by Lightbox will be distinguished clearly as lab-grown diamonds to the customers and the products are also going to be sold on the ecommerce platforms of both Bloomingdale's and Reeds.

Earrings, necklaces, stack rings and bracelets studded in pink, blue and white diamonds, will be available at the brick-and-mortar stores. Forbes also notes that this move will be promoted both outdoor and on social media with special events in key markets.

The trial run, according the Steve Coe, CEO, Lightbox Jewelry will last for 6 months. If succesful and the customers are responding well, the jewellery will be distrubuted and retailed accross more outlets.
