|
|
With prices of gold and diamond at an all time high and currency fluctuations rampant, Las Vegas opened its doors to buyers and exhibitors. Despite prevailing difficulties there was an overall positive vibe circulating through the various show floors, mainly due to the recovering American market. Prices remained strong for the loose diamonds segment. Stating the rationale behind it few buyers believed that the companies have made good profits in past few years and they were holding the goods. Some of the Israeli traders further added that this situation is very tough for the trading sector and the prices may see a slight dip in the coming times. The Luxury Show which commenced 3 days before the JCK had a lukewarm response. AGTA show for colored gemstones was slow, The quality goods prices are steep because of higher rough prices. In all gemstones, rough prices have gone up by 15-25pc. This has shrunk the margins of manufacturer while making it difficult for buyers to buy consistently.
