Dialogue is crucial to development
The entire gems and jewellery industry by now has understood that changes introduced by the present government are in the best interests of industry’s growth and development. Over the years, the industry has seen a lot of issues but they have been solved only after discussions. A dialogue is necessary between the industry and the policy makers. The GJEPC is bringing such opportunity with ‘India Gold & Jewellery Summit’, wherein the industry can share its thoughts with the government.

India, being one of the biggest consumers of gold, this summit is definitely a welcome initiative. It will also be a platform where jewellers can learn from other countries like UK, Turkey and China about the kind of obstacles and challenges they face in their jewellery industry.

Tentative speakers at the summit will include the likes of Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, Commerce & Industry Minister Suresh Prabhu, RBI Governor Urjit Patel and more. Hallmarking, PMLA, GST and jewellery manufacturing trends will be a few topics discussed among others.
