de GRISOGONO unveils a High Jewellery collection at Biennale des Antiquaires

A must-visit venue for collectors from around the world, the Biennale des Antiquaires in Paris brings together – under the majestic glass roof of the Grand Palais – a range of pieces representing a variety of periods and movements in an exhibition telling the story of major artworks. From the Renaissance to the present day, it honours the accomplishments of pioneering artists ahead of their times. They epitomise absolute art through pure, free-spirited creations in which deliberate choices and a resolutely original attitude have given rise to a recognised style, to trends often imitated yet never equalled, to revered expressions of folly.

At the heart of the Grand Palais, de GRISOGONO unveils a High Jewellery collection set with the most desirable stones: diamonds of extremely high quality. Exceptionally white, almost colourless gems of rare clarity. Imposing carat weights that effectively highlight the incomparable radiance of original cuts. A collection aptly named FOLIES that pays tribute to FawazGruosi’s unbridled creativity, daring choices and unconventional approach. This fascinating and mysterious liberty is a gift that FawazGruosi has always possessed. It is the very signature of the de GRISOGONO style.

The designer’s vision established itself firmly in 1996 when he became the driving force behind the use of black diamonds – an enigmatic gem known as ‘carbonado’ that has become the emblem of the Maison. Guided by his decidedly non-conformist approach, FawazGruosi has given rise to revolutionary styles exploring unusual materials and stones previously considered unsuited to jewellery. Colour combinations, chiaroscuro effects, black rhodium coatings: the man who has rewritten the codes of the jewellery art is not afraid of blurring the boundaries between various genres.

Boldness, exuberant dimensions, along with unprecedented gemstone and colour combinations have been the keynotes of the de GRISOGONO spirit for 23 years.

In order to endow his creations with these generous shapes, he uses a variety of original and large-sized stones. He also enjoys enriching the traditional gemsetting palette. Alongside rail and invisible techniques, he introduces uniquely innovative settings ensuring an inimitable sparkle and radiance, right the way through to the claws (prongs) surrounding the centre stone. The inside of these jewellery creations is also delicately engraved with openworkedgemset scrolling motifs, a secret message intended exclusively for the woman wearing them and weaving intimate ties with her. Impeccable mastery of traditional High Jewellery techniques enables de GRISOGONO to regularly reinvent its own creative rules. FawazGruosi has invented a new, surprising and innovative jewellery language.

The FOLIES collection looks set to surpass all that the jeweller has already created. Beneath a deceptively classical appearance shaped by FawazGruosi’ choice of diamonds, these new releases herald a fresh burst of creative folly. Marrying the sparkle of diamonds with the vivid colours of rubies, emeralds, blue sapphires, black diamonds and onyx, de GRISOGONO brings its unmistakable touch of boldness and folly to the 28th edition of the Biennale des Antiquaires.
