Zale appoints Appel as CEO

Matthew W. Appel is the new executive vice president at Zale and he will occupy the office of the company’s chief financial officer on June 15, 2009. He will report to Neal Goldberg, the chief executive officer at Zale.

Appel has been associated with Zale, after moving from ExlService Holdings, where he was responsible as the company vice president and chief financial officer. His appointment at Zale came into effect keeping in mind his experience in growth and turnaround companies. His work portfolio also includes professional experience at Electronic Data Systems (EDS), Tenneco, and Arthur Andersen.
