VICENZAORO Fall concludes on a optimistic note

The VICENZAORO Fall, Fiera di Vicenza’s International jewellery show concluded bringing 1200 Italian and foreign brands from 30 countries. Preceded by About J, an invitation-only event that welcomed 34 selected Italian and foreign jewellery designer brands to Venice, for a whole week VICENZAORO provided a complete shop window of new ideas in the world of jewellery and of the ranges of fashion jewellery that will be seen at the end-of-year festivities.

VICENZAORO Fall strengthened the expectations that were aroused by the About J preview, where international buyers and top Italian retailers showed a solid business orientation. This attitude continued also during the exhibition held in the Vicenza fairgrounds that was visited by buyers from 111 countries, with particular regard to the Euro Zone, Central and Eastern Europe, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Asia with particular reference to China and North America. Depsite the recession, the show witnessed a return of some Italian retailers. The final data record the attendance of 7,160 visitors from abroad, while the Italian attendance data reached 10,879 visitors.

The September edition of VICENZAORO confirms the signs of recovery in international demand, already remarked in the early months of 2013. For the first time, after two years of negative signals, the second quarter of 2013 showed a positive result for Italian exports of jewellery (ISTAT data) that have grown in terms of both value (+6 percent) and quantity (+2.6 percent) over the same period of the previous year. Particularly significant is the growth in exports to the United States (+12 percent in value) and to the United Arab Emirates (+32 percent in value). Among the industry players there is an atmosphere of moderate confidence.

During the September edition of VICENZAORO, Fiera di Vicenza has further strengthened its network of international partnerships by signing an important agreement with the Hong Kong Trade Development Council in view of a strengthening of the Italian presence at the edition of March 2014 of the Hong Kong international Jewellery Show, and by starting a new partnership with the Armenian Jewellery Association, which owns the leading international jewellery exhibition in the Eurasian country. Already included in the international calendar of VICENZAORO and T-GOLD International, is the appointment of next December at the Dubai International Jewellery Week, which is particularly important, given that the United Arab Emirates are the second largest export market of the Italian jewellery.

VICENZAORO Fall 2013 was, first and foremost, the starting point for a new vision of the relationships between Fiera di Vicenza, gold and jewellery businesses, and the economic categories. The opinions of those who live every day the difficulties, but also the opportunities of the markets were also central for the last event of the cycle of meetings, entitled “OUR FAIR” attended by Licia Mattioli, President of Federorafi Confindustria, as well as by Franco Pozzebon, National President of the Godlsmiths of Confartigianato, and by the Master Gianmaria Buccellati.

From the comprehensive and complex debate dedicated to “OUR FAIR” further stimuli, suggestions and expectations were inferred, but also and above all the confirmation that Fiera di Vicenza has the potential to become the only reference Exhibition for Made in Italy and much more.VICENZAORO Fall has proposed a calendar rich of insight opportunities with several in-depth technical conferences and with the launch of the new edition of Trendbook 2015+, the guide dedicated to the jewellery trends edited by Trendvision Jewellery + Forecasting, the Independent Observatory of Fiera di Vicenza dedicated to world forecasting on jewellery and cross-industry luxury. Also the scouting of new talent in the jewellery industry continued with the exhibition "Porte Bonheur - Contemporary Amulets and Talismans" dedicated to 20 works created by as many young designers who partic
