‘Swarna Utsav’ – The Grand Shopping Festival concluded, with a grand ceremony in Ahmedabad, hosted amidst the presence of Honourable Shri Om Prakash Kohli, Governor of Gujarat, Shri Shantibhai Patel, President, Jewellers Association, Ahmedabad, Shri Rakesh Shah, President Gujarat Chamber of Commerce & Industry and Shri Somabhai Modi, Social Worker, Shri Zaveribhai Zaveri from Zaveri & Co. and Shri Maheshbhai, President Angadia Association, trade industrialists and leading industry personalities.

A lighting of the lamp by Honourable Governor of Gujarat, initiated the ceremony. Shri Shantibhai Patel, President, Jewellers Association, Ahmedabad welcomed Honourable Governor of Gujarat, President GCC&I , Shri Somabhai Modi, dignitaries, media and trade fellow members.

Honourable, Shri Om Prakash Kohli, Governor Gujarat noted that the gem and jewellery industry holds immense potential in domestic and international markets. Also, Gujarat is creating its identity in the international market through “Saundariya and Kala, its Cultural heritage and Development”. Appreciating the work of craftsman, he informed that this being a composite endeavor he also commended the concept for development of Museum to promote the industry.

Shri Shantibhai Patel, President, Jewellers Association, Ahmedabad informed that our Association was concerned due to the market scenario prevailing since last six months and to promote the industry and to recognize the hard work of Craftsmen, Jewellers Association - Ahmedabad has organized ‘Swarna Utsav’ - The Grand Shopping Festival. More than 60 jeweller family members from various parts of Ahmedabad participated in the event. He informed that the event is a grand success with enhanced traffic flow from various parts of Gujarat and outside Gujarat at each participant showroom. Even the customers were delighted and satisfied with the offers and purchases.

Mr. Patel also informed that a Museum is to be developed showcasing work by the Indian craftsman, to promote the industry. Mr. Patel opined to organsie such event concurrent to Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2015 and Pravasi Bharatiya Divas which this time is going to be organised at Gandhinagar.

Shri Shantibhai Patel thanked the Government of Gujarat, all the participants, to make “Swarna Utsav” a grand success, while Shri Somabhai Modi, Social worker appreciated the work of Jewellers Association and also informed that the association is working keeping in mind benefits for the trade person, customers and artisans. May contributors associated with “Swarna Utsav” were felicitated. The event ended with vote of thanks from Shri Zaveribhai Zaveri.
