Sotheby’s Fine Jewels to unfold in Geneva in June

The sale is set on a more accessible scale

Sotheby’s will hold its Fine Jewels in Geneva on 1 June and will be the first of a regular series of jewellery auctions, to be held in Sotheby’s galleries at 2 rue François-Diday. Alongside Sotheby’s biannual sales of Magnificent Jewels and Noble Jewels, the new Fine Jewels sale will offer a wide range of fine quality signed jewels and decorative pieces with a wide variety of estimates.

Set on a more accessible scale, the event will offer opportunities for collectors and newcomers alike to acquire stylish jewels from the most important jewellery houses at very appealing prices. The jewels to be offered will be exhibited before the sale from 29 – 31 May.

David Bennett Chairman of Sotheby’s Switzerland and Chairman of Sotheby’s International Jewellery Division, said “Following our record-breaking flagship sale in May, I am delighted to be launching a new sale series in Geneva. The “Fine Jewels” auction on 1 June will present a varied and eclectic array of attractive jewels, close to 90 percent of which come from private collections.”

On sale will be Jewellery Creations by contemporary jewellery designer Michele della Valle which will comprise 82 lots. Jewels from the late 18th century to the present day, taking in the Art Deco movement along the way, the auction catalogue presents a wealth of periods and styles. Signed pieces from renowned jewellery houses, decorative jewels with intricate designs and bold colour will be part of the sale.
