Shanghai Diamond Exchange reports increase in Chinese trade

The diamond trade in the China increased by 119.5 percent during the first half of 2007, compared to the trade during first six months of 2006. Shanghai Diamond Exchange - the trade channel for China, reported an overall increase including imports and exports, to figure at $443 million.

The diamond imports or exports under general trade valued at $419 million, a rise of 115.7 percent, while those diamonds traded as bonded goods rose by 215.9 percent to $24.54 million for the said period.
