Rosy Blue releases annual corporate responsibility report

Rosy Blue has released its third annual corporate responsibility report. The entity is a client of Alrosa, BHP Billiton Diamonds and the Diamond Trading Company. Its endeavours include trading of rough diamonds, manufacturing and distribution of polished diamonds and jewelry, and providing strategic alliances for its branding partners, on a global basis.

The recently published report outlines the business alliance performance and initiatives on a range of material topics including respect for human rights, working conditions, product integrity, community empowerment and environment.

The contents of the report include Rosy Blue NV’s participation in LEAD – sharing best practices and lessons learned across other industries, country and operational risk assessment across the value chain, preparation for SA 8000 Certification by 2012 in China, moving beyond living index wage in Thailand and China, launching Diamond Quality Management programme in Sri Lanka, Challenging roadmap for contractors, launching Rosy Blue going green carbon neutrality by 2016 and its responsibility towards achieving the Millennium Development Goals.

Rosy Blue views sustainability as both a responsibility and opportunity, and aims at continuously setting ambitious new targets to reconcile economic growth with environmental and social responsibilities. In 2010-2011, the business alliance concentrated on benchmarking and auditing its standards to reflect its corporate responsibility commitments. Rosy Blue NV and its affiliates and associate also announced its Responsible Jewellery Council certification, which was based on a highly expansive scope including separate auditing and certification of 28 legal entities in 13 countries.
