Prices rise in DTC’s sixth sight

For sight July 7-11, DTC Sightholdershave received their respective quota of rough diamonds from the company, at a price hike. The larger goods, which produce higher-quality polished diamonds of more than one carat have increased in prices by 15 percent, while on an average the hike is of 5 percent. This is the sixth sight in 2008.

This event follows DTC committing to a price hike three times a year: before the release of its annual results and at the sights preceding two major trade shows, JCK Las Vegas and the Hong Kong Jewellery and Watch Fair. The company will be announcing its next cumulative price point at the August sight, scheduled for the week of Aug. 18.

DTC has taken into consideration, the present condition of the polished-diamond market and adjusted the price hike to develop a long-term and sustainable approach to its pricing.
