“Approved buyers are offered three free nights in the IDWI's venue hotels," said Moti Fluk, chairman of the IDWI Organizing Commitee. "But with current registration numbers higher than even before, we'll be running out of guest accommodation soon."
Close to 400 diamond buyers across the world will be scouting the products at the Israel Diamond Exchange (IDE), interacting with some 300 firms who are exhibiting polished stones. From the Israeli perspective, the IDWI is an excellent opportunity for manufacturers and vendors of 'niche' products who usually to not attend the international trade shows, to market their goods, at competitive prices. "Each participant gets the same space at a table, no matter how big or small the company. It offers a level playing field for all IDE members and their colleagues from other bourses. So buyers will find a wide range of goods available ahead of the upcoming international fairs in Asia in September," Fluk added.
While the majority of the diamantaires showing goods will be Israeli, there will also be colleagues from Belgium, India and the USA offering diamonds for sale.
The International Diamond Week in Israel is organized by the Israel Diamond Exchange in close cooperation with the Diamond Dealers Club of New York (DDC), the Antwerp Diamond Bourse (Beurs voor Diamanthandel), and, for the first time, also by the Bharat Diamond Bourse. All exchanges will be represented by delegations of their members on the IDE trading floor in August.
