The Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) has announced the opening of space booking for 33rd edition of India International Jewellery Show (IIJS 2016).

After conducting both the segments – machinery and jewellery - at the same venue last year, this year GJEPC has relocated the machinery section to Hotel Lalit in Mumbai. However, the reason of change has not been disclosed.

In regards to layout, minor modifications have been carried out, keeping in mind the need to optimise aisle spaces and offer easy sourcing opportunities at the show floor. Largely, the last year's floor plan has been largely maintained.

Majority of the modifications remain as it is. For eg: This year, too, there is an option to surrender back partial space at Existing location and no expansion of space is allowed for exhibitors. However, as an exception, exhibitors may qualify for an expansion opportunity through lottery draw against cancellation.

Besides, this year, there is an introduction of a new category - "Hall of Innovation" in Hall no. 2 – to encourage highest levels of craftsmanship by providing equal opportunities to expanded sections of the industry. "Hall of Innovation" is intended to empower budding designers, start-ups, women entrepreneurs, skilled goldsmiths and small entrepreneurs with an opportunity to market their skilled craftsmanship to our 35,000+ trade visitors!

The last date for submission of online space application form is Tuesday 17th May 2016.
