Joining the list of leading industry trade shows is all new MACAO INTERNATIONAL GEM FAIR, which will debut this month at The Venetian Macao Resort & Exhibition Center. The show is being launched by MEGA EXPO (Hong Kong) Limited, a leading Hong Kong-based trade exhibition organizer in joint effort with three renowned trade associations, namely Hong Kong Gold & Silver Ornament Workers And Merchants General Union Limited, Hong Kong Gemstone Manufacturers Association Ltd. and Hong Kong Pearl Association.

The fair will unfold from 27-30 July, 2015. It is positioned to serve the Asian and Chinese gems and jewellery markets, as well as grow business opportunities in the wider global arena. Moreover, the exhibition has garnered tremendous recognition and unrivalled support from more than 10 trade associations and industry organisations as supporting parties for the event. The timing of the show is suited well for jewellery designers and manufacturers to source and buy the raw gems and other materials to plan production and design for the many upcoming major jewellery trade exhibitions and promotional events in September. Also, fine jewellery buyers can seek new supplies to cater to the year-end Christmas and New Year’s gift-shopping season.

The new Macao Gem Fair has gained full support from the Macao SAR government. Apart from subsidies offered to participating companies to join the exhibition, special visitor promotion programs will be launched to offer attractive incentives to qualified buyers, such as sponsorship for hotel accommodation and travel expenses. The show organizers noted that the inaugural edition will feature a wide range of exhibitors in over 300 booths from Hong Kong, Thailand, India, China, Japan, Taiwan, Poland, Iran, France, Sri Lanka, etc., presenting gems, diamonds, pearls, loose stones, raw materials and other related services.

Macao as a city holds potential for the gem and jewellery trade. The city’s duty-free port regime and its close proximity to China’s over 110 huge gems and jewellery wholesale centres around the Pearl River Delta Region in South China give it unrivalled advantages.
