MID wins Israel’s Outstanding Exporter Award for 2011

MID House of Diamonds, an Israel based manufacturer of diamonds and high-end diamond jewellery was presented with Israel’s Outstanding Exporter Award for 2011. The award was presented by Israel’s President Shimon Peres and Minister of Industry, Trade and Labor Shalom Simhon, at a ceremony yesterday at the President’s residence. In 2011, MID exported $239 million worth of diamonds, making it Israel’s second largest diamond exporter.

The awards platform, an annual honour, recognizes Israel’s best exporting companies in a variety of fields. MID is one of 10 companies to win the award this year. The ceremony was attended by Israel Diamond Exchange (IDE) President Yair Sahar, Israel Diamond Manufacturers Association (IsDMA) Bumi Traub, Precious Stones Exchange President Shlomo Eshed and Diamond Controller Shmuel Mordechai.

MID House of Diamonds was established in 1994 by brothers Benny and Yossi Meirov. It caters to leading retailers and jewelry manufacturers around the world. Benny Meirov said that he was greatly moved by the award and that it proved that the efforts that he and his brother had invested in MID were deserved. Yair Sahar said he was gratified to note that for years diamond companies have been among Israel’s Outstanding Exporters. “We have the honor of representing a sector that is responsible for some $28 billion in revenue and annual exports of $11 billion – representing 25 percent of Israel’s exports,” he said.
