International Gemstone and Jewellery Show JAS-17 to begin in September

Jaipur. The International center of Gemstone and Jewellery Industry, Jaipur would witness the extravagant display of design and creativity during 1st to 4th September at the 11th Annual Gemstone and Jewellery Show JAS-17. The event would be organized at the elaborate area of Jaipur Exhibition and Convention Center (JECC).

Kundan Meena Theme for JAS-17

According to the President of Jewellers Assocciation Nirmal Bardiya, JAS-17 would be organized on the central theme of “Kundan Meena” which has aptly become the Identity of brand Jaipur across the world. Jaipur is famous for its creativity and craft in Gemstone and Jewellery especially in the Kundan Meena Jewellery. Jaipur’s Jewellery is globally regarded and appreciated by numerous Hollywood – Bollywood stars and Jewellery lovers.“The Kundan Meena art of Jewellery is prevalent from the Mughal and the Rajput era and has been further revived by the innovations of using diamonds and color stones in the Jadau Jewellery”,added Bardiya

Kundan-Meena’s role in making Jaipur a city of craft and design

According to Convener JAS-17 Sanjay Kala, the founder of Jaipur Sawai Jai Singh not only planned the architecture of the city but also invited and housed talented craftsmen and workmen from all the other riyasats of the country. In accordance to that numerous talented Gemstone valueres, Jewellery and Gemstone craftsmen, traders and manufacturers were also accommodated in Jaipur. The popular Johari Bazar of Jaipur was designated to be the hub of all the Gemstone and Jewellery trade and manufacturing in the city.

The craftsmen, traders and manufacturers also responded to the warmth of the then king of Jaipur and produced some of the finest creations of Gemstone and Jewellery products thus marking a sound presence of Jaipur on the international map of gemstone and Jewellery trade.

Kala added, historically the city was regarded as a major center of creativity and craftsmanship and Kundan Meena has played a pivotal role in establishing Jaipur on the Global map of Gemstone and Jewellery Industry. JAS-17 has also creatively used the sculpture art in highlighting the craft and galore of Kundan Meena Jewellery on the grey sculptures.

JAS-17 to be a Global Platform

Convener JAS-17 Sanjay Kala said, JAS-17 would be a truly international show with visitors and participants coming from various countries and states of India. Buyers, Designers, Artisans and brokers from USA, Hong Kong, Thailand, Japan, Gemany, Dubai, China, and various other countries have already registered to visit the show. Apart from that visitors from various cities of India including Ahmedabad, Junagarh, Vadodara, Surat, Mumbai, Pune, Kolhapur, Delhi, Chandigarh, Ratlam, Indore, Bangaluru, Kolkata, Lucknow, Kanpur and numerous cities of from the southern states would also witness the 4 day event. The buyers from TV Jewellery selling platforms would also be attending the show. More than 2500 outstation trade buyers have registered from offline and online channels and over 4000 local buyers are also expected to visit JAS-17 thus providing a huge business and networking platform.

Chief Minister to Inaugurate JAS-17

Chief Minister of the State Vasundhara Raje has been invited to formally inaugurate JAS-17 on 1st September in a Royal occasion. CM will also be unveiling the Official Publication of Jewellers Association “Gem World” and “JAS -17 Show Guide”. Apart from that BJP State President Ashok Parnami, M.P. Jaipur Ram Charan Bohra, Industries Minister Rajpal Singh Shekhawat, Minister for Health Kalicharan Sarraf, Mayor Ashok Lahoti, MLA Mohan Lal Gupta and Kailash Verma, GJEPC Chairman Praveen Shankar Pandya and GJF Nitin Khandelwal are also expected to attend the show.

JAS-17 to create milestone of success

Begun in 2007 with just 177 participants, JAS has successfully established itself as a premier platform of Gemstone and Jewellery trade. Having a steady and consistent growth year on year, 11 years from its initiation, JAS-17 now will be presenting over 500 stalls and booths of Gemstone and Jewellery products. Theshow area has also expanded multifold and thus the venue is also shifted to the humungous space of JECC from the previous Show venue BM Birla Auditorium. JAS-17 would be organized in a comprehensive area of over 3 lac sq.ft. and a booth area of over 1 Lac sq.ft.

Strategic Importance of JAS-17

Considering the strategic importance of JAS-17, the Gem and Jewellery Federation (GJF) have declared to organize its Board Meeting during JAS-17 at the show venue. More than 75 eminent and established Gems and Jewellery traders and manufacturers of the GJF and Zonal Committee members will be participating in show. A large number of office bearers of various Gemstone and Jewellery Associations of numerous cities of the nation would also be attending the show. A significant number of Institutional Buyers, representatives and executives from the corporate Jewellery houses, Large and Established Jewellery houses would also be visiting and participating in JAS-17. Even international Jewellery Houses from Hong Kong are also exhibiting their products in the show.

Ocean of Gemstone and Jewellery products

JAS-17 would be a perfect depiction of “All under one roof” for the Gemstone and Jewellery Industry. The participants at the show would exhibit a large variety and range of colored precious and semi-precious stones, certified diamonds, loose Color stones, rough stones, diamond and gold Jewellery, Silver Jewellery, Platinum Jewellery, Silver articles, Jewellery manufacturing tools, machinery, display and packing accessory, trade publications, institutions and various other related products during JAS-17.

JAS-17 to house over 30,000 visitors and 500 booths

Kala added, across the duration of the 4 days of the event, JAS-17 would be housing over 30,000 visitors and 500 booths. The show would have 175 booths of Gemstone, 275 for the Jewellery, 20 for the Rough Stones and 30 booths of the Tools, machinery, packaging material and other products for the Gemstone and Jewellery industry. The show is believed to gather a footfall of over 30,000 visitors of which one third are expected to be trade visitors and buyers including B-to-B and B-to-C both.

Tri-level Security and Exquisite Décor at the Show Venue

According to Jewellers Association Secretary Rajesh Dhamani and Vice-President & Co-Convener JAS-17 Arun Gokhroo, the show venue has been decorated extensively considering the International image of JAS-17, Board meeting of GJF, and large number of international and national participations. The security implementations at the show venue are also of the highest grade. Other facilitations like consistent power supply, rain water disposal, Fire Fighting measures and Fire Brigade, CCTV cameras, metal and arms detector, badges and photo id, co-ordination with the local and police administrations are also arranged at the venue.

Extension of facilities at JAS-17

Joint Secretary Jewellers Association Dilip Godika and Co-Convenor Krishan Kr. Agarwal (Churiwala) added, the show venue would be covered with numerous facilities for the ease of the visitors and participants. Drinking water at the show venue, Shuttle service to pick up and drop visitors from various places of the city, Relax zone and Meeting area at show venue, parking for over 2000 cars, food and refreshment area, free 2 night Hotel stay for selected outstation traders are also accommodated for the show.

Associated Events of JAS-17

Kala said, various associated events are also being organized to add to the stature of JAS-17. The JAS Jewellery Design Competition decorated Jewellery over 12 sculptures, informative seminar on “Treatment of Gemstone” and exhibiting the design competition awarded Jewellery will be the highlights of JAS-17.
